We are giving children without dental insurance free dental care for Give Kids a Smile Day, Monday, February 17, 2025, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at their Dexter office located at 29 Church Street. Not only will these children receive free care, but there is also a coloring contest and goodie bags.
Many children in Maine are not smiling because of untreated tooth decay. A painful mouth makes it hard for kids to eat, which can result in malnutrition, deprives them of sleep if they are battling a toothache, and causes difficulty and creates distraction in school. Give Kids a Smile Day is part of the American Dental Association Action for Dental Health campaign.
“We have been holding Give Kids a Smile Day for several years with great results,” said Robin Winslow, CEO, Hometown Health Center. “Having a healthy mouth is important for overall well-being. We want to give our children every possible chance at a healthy life.”
Children do not need to be a patient of Hometown Health Center to participate in Give Kids a Smile Day, but they must not have dental insurance. To make an appointment for free dental care for a child on Give Kids a Smile Day, call 924-5200.
Free dental care for kids is definitely something to smile about.
